Microsoft and 16 other firms including Oracle and Nokia are filing a complaint against Google Android and the way it’s apps are packaged with the free OS. The Group is calling itself “Fairsearch Europe” and they are seeking action by the relevant bodies in the EU regarding Google’s practices with it’s now dominant Android operating system. In response Google says simply, ”we continue to work cooperatively with the European... Read The Rest →

Opera’s Webkit Browser Called “Ice” Is Impressive
Frequent visitors know how I feel about the Mobile World Congress. It’s by far my favorite event of the year. Not only because I love new devices but new apps as well. Last year brought several goodies with it and this year will be no exception. Before I tell you just how cool the switch to Webkit will be for Opera I will just say check out the footage Pocket Lint was able to obtain this past December below. This is what I had hoped Chrome for Android... Read The Rest →

Paranoid Android Update Arrives Brings Us The Pie We’ve Been Waiting For.
Thursday I posted about the pie nav bar update coming to Paranoid Android and I’m excited to say an early build had already arrived for Grouper (Nexus 7) (check for availability on other devices). This update allows for access to both the navigation bar and status bar when using expanded desktop and it’s a welcome addition. Nexus 7 users can head HERE and grab it. Paranoid Android Continues To Set Benchmarks For Custom ROM Innovation
I have long been a fan and sung the praises of the Paranoid Android team but some of the new features are really really awesome and worth a look. Here lead developer of PA molesarecoming shows off the new pie nav bar feature which allows you to use your device in expanded desktop mode (sans navigation and status bar) and still have access to the Navigation bar. This is especially beneficial when considering that Paranoid Android allows you to set expanded desktop automatically on a per app basis. As you... Read The Rest →

Ander Webb’s ADW EX is Back And Better Than Ever
It’s been quite some time since the original ADW launcher saw an update. Most of the Android users that I chat with on a daily had flocked to either Nova or Apex launcher aside from the few who swear by Holo. Launchers are a tough business. A lot of them have come and gone in the last year and we often get excited every time a developer or development team attempts to push the envelope with launchers only to be disappointed at the end result ,which tend to...
