Google Says No To Nexus One Ice Cream Sandwich Update… We Still Say Yes
According to an article in the Telegraph Google’s Hugo Barra is saying the aging Nexus One’s hardware just aint good enough to run Ice Cream Sandwich. The statement is contradictory if you consider the story we broke here where an HTC/Google Engineer says the Nexus One will indeed receive the update and kind of makes you laugh if you see the video which we embedded in an article HERE that shows the Nexus One running the SDK (though not functional it is an SDK afterall) in sort of impressive fashion. All that being said plenty folks are already reporting this story and that’s not really what we do here we do aftermarket Android and the things we think matter so we say Yes it will. Why? Because we can do anything in this community. So take that unbelievers the HTC Nexus One will get ICS one way or the other. We challenge the Nexus One devs to get it done but we don’t have to issue a challenge lol. Remember when they told us Sense 3.0 wouldn’t run on the Evo 4G. We laughed and then Virus did it. So let us at least take a wait and see approach. I think you will find in the end that doubting the Android Community is not a safe bet. My moneys on the devs.
One thing of note though is that Barra did find the time to hit back at Steve Ballmer the CEO of Microsoft’s claim that a degree in engineering is required to use Android saying:
Ice Cream Sandwich was designed with the next three years in mind and will be easily used by all level users
