Verizon Announces Motorola RAZR MAXX and Droid 4!!!!
Not to be outdone by AT&T today, Verizon announced two new LTE phones from Motorola. Both of these phones have been leaked numerous times however it is still nice to see all of the specs confirmed.
1. Droid RAZR MAXX
This update to the popular Droid RAZR brings a very important change to the RAZR. First off it will be a little thicker at 8.9mm then the original RAZR however this is so they could fit a bigger battery into the phone. Moto is also promising an incredible 21 hours of talk time out of this phone! While I am interested in seeing how well that time holds up with real world use it is nice to see manufacturers taking battery life very seriously. The phone will come with 32GB of internal storage as well which is a huge step up over the original RAZR. The rest of the specs will be the same as the first RAZR and the MAXX will still come with Android 2.3 which is a little bit of a letdown. It will be $299 with a new contract.
2. Motorola Droid 4
For all of you out there who have been waiting for 2 years for a worthy successor to your O.G. Droid it looks like it might be here! The Droid line has had a large number of updates however most have been updates and not the complete package. The Droid 4 is all you need and more! First up is a 4″ qHD display with scratch resistant coating, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of memory, and an 8MP 1080p camera around the back. But the star of the show is the keyboard. It is finally backlit which is a welcome sight. The best part is that even with a 4G LTE radio and a slide out QWERTY the phone is still only .5″ thick! The phone is also coated in the same water-repellent Nano coating as the RAZR and let me take a minute to point out one thing about the Droid 4 that is disappointing. The Droid 4 will be shipping with Android 2.3 however Moto has promised an upgrade to Android 4.0 by Quarter 2 of this year.
