Atticus182 Brings Galaxy Nexus Softkey Mods Galore!!!!
Recently I shared a screenshot of my Galaxy Nexus where I used some apps from the Android Market to create some minimalistic text icons, the response I got lead me to write an article on the method I used here. I am a big fan of the look and the one daunting task left was to mod out my softkeys as well. Thanks to atticus182 over on Rootzwiki this process has become alot easier. Not only has the man put together almost 20 different kinds of Softkey mods, he has given us 4 different ways to install them depending on your comfort level!! From simple text to Honeycomb to Metro style like the EVO lineup, it is all here in one place. I personally used the ZipThemer method, simply download the mod, download Zipthemer from the Android Market for free and follow the instructions. It worked like a charm. If you are feeling more daring or just want to learn how all of this works there are numerous methods to flash from using your computer to editing the SystemUI.apk on your GNex. I really like this mod, it is something that you can do to really set your phone apart from all of the other GNexs out there. As if that is not cool enough, atticus182 has done an amazing job of making sure that anybody who is willing to tinker with their phone will be able to do it.
