ASUS Padfone Looks To Change The Way We Think About Docking Our Phone!!!!

Remember when ASUS changed the name of the tablet game by releasing the Transformer? This device allowed you to effectively transform your tablet into a usable desktop device.  Now it looks like ASUS is looking to transform the game again! At the MWC they have introduced the Padfone and words don’t describe how cool this could be.  First up lets talk about the phone.

The Padfone its self is a very nice top-tier device.  It features a 4.3 Super AMOLED display and a brushed aluminum backing with a 8.9mm thick chassis.  Inside is the mighty Snapdragon S4 dual-core Krait processor, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, Android 4.0 ICS, HSPA+ 4G radio, and a 1530 mAh battery.  The phone is running stock Android 4.0 with just a few added widgets.  Now this phone is very nice but it is the available accessories that make it a beast.  You will have the option to buy a 10″ tablet “station”.

This tablet has a slot in the back of the device that lets you insert the entire phone! The tablet will dock internally with the phone and use the camera on the Padfone as it’s rear facing camera, however it does have a front facing unit for your video talk. If you watch the video the switchover looks pretty seamless thanks to Android 4.0 which allows tablets and phones to run the same OS.  The user will also have the option to buy a keyboard dock like the Transformer and even a stylus that lets you answer phone calls on the tablet! Is it possible to cram any more cool accessories into one device? No wonder ASUS has been excited to show this off! As of right now we do not have any information on pricing and availability, however in the meantime peep the video below for how cool this device combo will be!
