We have been covering the patent disputes between the various OEM’s for ages now. If you look i’d estimate 80 percent of those stories chronicle the specific patent war being waged between the top two smartphone makers in the world Samsung and Apple respectively. FOSS Patents is reporting the two have finally agreed to sit down and have a meeting. The meeting is scheduled to occur within the next 90 days, will be presided over by a judge and both parties will have attorneys present. The meeting is supposed to bring some sort of resolution to the on-going patent war between the two with a settlement of some kind. Yeah we’ve heard this before but the CEO’s of both companies will be present as well meaning both companies may be seriously considering squashing the beef.  I hope for the state of the Android Eco-System ,and for that matter innovation in general, some sort of settlement can be reached. What do you guys think? Could this be connected to recent Motorola court victories? Perhaps Apple no longer has as clean cut a case as they have claimed and perhaps this could be the beginning of the end of the legal wrangling across the board. One can always hope.
