The other day after my Facebook app updated itself in the market and the most annoying thing happened.  A few minutes later I went into my app drawer and noticed a new camera icon in there.  It is a shortcut that allows you to share your pictures straight on FB and there is also now a messenger app as well.  I am not a big fan of anything popping up in my app drawer that I did want there and if you are like me there is a solution over on XDA.

For those of you who are angry that these new apps are in your drawer,  developer Cory Charlton has come up with a quick and easy solution for you. Facebook Icon Remover is a tool that will allow you to take care of this annoying problem.   While the Messenger app might be useful to you the camera app is next to pointless with so many better ones out there on the market.   So if you use Facebook Icon Remover it will not take the apps themselves off your phone since they are part of the Facebook app itself, however it will hide the icons so you can pretend you never saw the icons.  While this is a quick and easy fix, I am very afraid that this will be the movement of the future.  Apps will update themselves and take the opportunity to insert additional icons in the app drawer.  Hopefully though this is the last of this tactic we will see, in the meantime head on over to the market link below to download Facebook App Remover and forget you ever saw the new icons.
