Interview: Cognitive Code’s Leslie Spring Tells All About The SILVIA Artificial Intelligence Platform, Androids Answer For Siri
I had the pleasure of speaking with SILVIA”s creator Leslie Spring from Cognitive Code last week and ask a few questions about the upcoming multi-platform SILVIA Artificial Intelligence/ chatbot. SILVIA as a project has gotten a lot of momentum from the success of Siri and other chat bots however, SILVIA is unique in a ton of ways and frankly appears more intelligent than Siri or any other chatbots out there. Lots of things were revealed in this interview including the portability factor of SILIVIA since she does not require expensive servers to run and can run natively on devices. The same SILVIA A.I. can be used in your phone, car, home or even your set top box/television. The key catalyst for this advantage is the fact that the SILVIA run time runs identically regardless of platform whether it be Android, WIndows, IOS etc. making this transition as simple as moving some data.
SILVIA will be available for the UNITY platform meaning it can be immediately used in games. In the interview Mr. Spring gives some pretty awesome examples of ways the SILVIA AI can be used in games that run both natively and online. In fact developers should go take a look at this link for updated information on using SILVIA in games and other applications. SILVIA is headed to a ton of places from defense dept projects to toys and SILVIA will remember you regardless of where you choose to use her. She learns your likes and dislikes and your habits over time and uses this data to tailor her mannerisms, behaviors, and assistance. There are a ton of examples between our first article on the subject here and our interview pasted below so by all means have a listen. SILVIA is a complex and revolutionary technology and the conversation spans an hour but barely touches on all of the possibilities. Perhaps we will get a chance to speak with Cognitive Code again in the future. For now check out our original piece on SILVIA and enjoy the interview. Note: My apologies to Leslie Spring for referring to SILVIA as Siri during the interview a couple times. My main focus is on the SILVIA for android app and obviously contrasting it with Siri, where as the interview broached far more important issues such as SILVIA as a development platform.
