Could A Cross Licensing Deal Be Imminent? Samsung And Google Team Up To Fight Apple

9 to 5 Mac is reporting that Google and Samsung will team up and have a “game plan” to get more money out of Apple Inc for use of patented technologies. Of course this comes on the heels of the announcement that Apple has won a preliminary injunction banning both the original Galaxy Tab and the flagship device for Google”s latest versions of the Android OS the Galaxy Nexus. Cross licensing agreements are a fairly common method to settle these disputes and I think Google getting involved openly is a sign that such a deal may finally be reached. The proverbial gorilla in the room may be Motorola who I think has the actual patents that in the end may force Apple to settle. HTC and the other OEM’s are also involved and combined they have some firepower to hit back with. One thing is for sure the patent squabling once end and Apple should take note because Microsoft has done the very same thing with one of the major dogs in this fight namely Samsung. Lets hope this agreement can be reached soon. Apple’s moves have been very well timed. As it stands Google announced a brand new version of their OS this week and the flagship smart phone that will be using it has been banned. Tough times. Stay tuned as more develop0rs.
