Now Nokia Says Google And Asus Infringe On Their Patents And Need To Pay Up

It is really starting to appear that Google’s competitors know they cannot compete directly with Android. JellyBean is killer lets face it and so is the Nexus 7 tablet announced along with it. So killer that no one is really coming close and especially not the likes of Nokia who are now claiming that the Nexus 7 is in violation of their standards essential patent portfolio with the patents in questions relating to WiFi.  Now for the moment it appears that Nokia is just going to ask nicely for it’s money rather than hit the lawsuit button but either way Google cannot be very happy with this turn of events.  I still think Google has a few bullets in their gun especially with the Motorola acquisition so we will see how this one pans out. On the bright side this will put even more scrutiny on the patent system which is in desperate need of reform.
