So back in June (the far far distant past in a galaxy far far away) Google announced the Nexus 7 at their Google io conference.  The tablet then immediately went up for pre-order. Well those tablets started shipping on yesterday and we broke the story here that confirmed this. (I broke the story as I was picking mine up. Well the demand for the tablet has been “immense” according to Google Chairmen and Evangelist Eric Schmidt.  Gamestop , the retailer where I get my tablet, has reportedly sold out of two allotments and is waiting on their third due in August. Also Staples, Office Depot, Sam’s Club, (Office Depot still has some at the time of this writing) have either sold out or will do so shortly. So if your looking for a Nexus 7 , and as you will see in my hands-on a little later you should be, then you may have to do a little hunting until August if you have not pre-ordered. Otherwise I would not be surprised if you receive yours in the coming days. More to come as soon as we know it.
