Ra6eQUIT: Top Five Games For Your Nexus 7, Cause We’re Gamers And We Know

I saw a horrible opinion piece on the top 5 games for Nexus 7 and since games is what I do, I decided to tell you my thoughts on what games we think deserve such accolades. So I thought we would do one of our own for our new favorite tablet. The five games on this list are top notch and a lot of thought and rigorous testing went into choosing these titles. Anyhow enough yapping let us begin. The games appear in no particular order, we love ‘em all.

Aralon Sword and Shadow HD (Amazon App Store Only)

Aralon is one of those games that has been available on ios for quite some time and only recently made it’s way onto Android thanks to developer Galoobeth Games makers of the award winning Ravensword. Let me say right now this game is a serious contender for best RPG on Android and perhaps even best game right now. Aralon is a BIG rpg with beautiful full 3-d graphics. It will put you in the mind of a smaller version of Elder Scrolls, thanks in part to the artist from that series Mark Jones, with awesome quest lines and npc interactions. The world of Aralon is nothing short of immersive with various races and locales one would expect from such a game. The character customziations are fairly robust with a choice of 3 races, 4 classes, and 8 different kinds of mounts. Get ready to explore Aralon’s unique 3-D world. It’s a top notch experience you won’t soon forget. Unfortunately this one is only available on the Amazon App Store. Video below.

Order and Chaos

You may have heard of a little company they call Gameloft, Ok lets face it there is nothing little about Gameloft. They are the Electronic Arts of mobile gaming, and they have what is hands down the best massively multi-player game available for Android called Order and Chaos. As a long time player of World of Warcraft I find myself in a unique position to judge this game on it’s merits as a bonafide World of Warcraft clone and it does this very well. The gameplay graphics style are ripped right from Blizzards extraordinarily popular pc title and Gameloft has no shame so I have no problem telling you it’s a flagrant rip off. That being said the game is excellent and you will have no problem at all finding fellow Androidians to team up with (there is nothing worse than an MMO game with no people. The game features 4 races, 1k skills, and 2k pieces of equipment strewn throughout a massive game world. You can create 4 characters and the game has both PvP and PvE and epic instanced dungeons for bands of adventurers to try their hand at. Another bonus of this game is that I’m in it and I can be found on Arcadian Forest server (America) my main toon is a Divine Monk by the name of Theoria so feel free to say hello especially if you need a hand. Order and Chaos is available on Google Play for $ 6.99. This comes with 3 free months and after that there is a small subscription fee with the following options:  $0.99/month, $1.99 for 3 months or $2.99 for 6 months. Video below.

 Final Fantasy 3

Let me say this right now if your an 80′s baby and you remember Final Fantasy 3 on the Super Nintendo (aka Super Famicon) then you remember one of the greatest RPG’s ever made it with some of the most amazing visuals, music, effects, and cinematics of the era. This is NOT that game. Final Fantasy 3 was indeed the 3rd released in the United States but in reality it was the 6th chronologically. In other words this is actually the Japanese version of Final Fantasy 3 which is actually the 3rd Chronologically. If that’s confusing for you I understand and that’s why I am here to clue you in. The game cost a whopping fifteen bucks and I would hate for you to purchase a game that cost an astronomical amount only to find that it isn’t the game you wanted.  Okay all that aside what you get is a beautiful version of the game. It was ported to the Nintendo DS and this basically what you get but it makes excellent use of the touch screen. I won’t go on and on about it it’s a Final Fantasy game after all and a great one. Want to spend 15 bucks for it though? Only if your a die hard fan.. still it made my top 5.

 The Dark Knight Rises

So recent tragic events aside Gameloft went ahead and released this one end of last week. What can I say bad about this game aside from that. Graphically it excels for an open world mobile game and lets face it they are even better than Rockstar at bringing open world experience down to mobile. Not saying there is anything cooler than a GTA 3 port just saying that Gameloft has made quite a few original open world games that are up to snuff and actually downright awesome. Granted Gameloft is the king of the knock off but this is not to their detriment. Don’t believe me ? Tune in to their next earnings call. The DKR is a top notch mobile game both in creating a cinematic experience that takes you into the movie and therefore into Gotham City and the fight against Bain. Combat is a button mashathon and is not deep at all,  but what they do right is the actual combat visuals as batman smashes his foes with fluid animation frames and awesome counter maneuvers. It’s actually quite awesome t0 watch and I missed counters numerous times gazing at Batman’s detailed character model damaging opponents and tossing them left and right. Gadgets and items galore and a few flourishes borrowed from the Arkham console games and what we have is the best darn super hero title ever made for a mobile device period. Quote me. Video below.

RipTide GP

Three RPG”s Kid really? Yeah I know but these are really great games and the only one I don’t think fans of action titles will also enjoy that is on this list is probably Final Fantasy 3. But this game …..well, the Nexus 7 is a Tegra 3 after all so this is my defacto Tegra 3 optimized title.  Vector Unit’s  Riptide GP is a phenomenal jet-ski racing game which has some of the best graphics and physics around. The special effects are totally topnotch with water hitting your screen that will make you flench. The sensation of speed is unreal and stunting off the ramp jumps along the courses are strongly encouraged. You guys probably already know about RipTide so I won’t go on and on about it. It’s one of the top games offered on NVDIA”s Tegra Zone right now and aside from what Madfinger has done with Shadowgun and Dead Trigger I haven’t been overly impressed with Tegra Zone to start with. Again Riptide is awesome and a must have for Nexus 7 owners. Video below.
