HTC Proto Rumored, Very Nice Mid-Level Specs On Board!!
In the cut throat world of Android phones, HTC has had its peaks and valleys. Just the other year they were on top of the Android world with best-selling phones on multiple carriers. Last year they received a lot of criticism about flooding the market with look-alike phones, confusing consumers and sales dropped. HTC decided to change their tactics and focus on releasing fewer phones but ones of greater quality and this year has shown that choice with the unveiling of the One series. While the phones have been very popular and are extremely well designed, one look at the sales numbers of the Samsung Galaxy S III shows that there is some ground to make up.
The One series has a pretty nice phone bringing up the caboose of the train, the One V. This phone has very nice 3.7″ LCD screen, Android 4.0 ICS, Sense 4.0, a 5MP camera, and a 1GHz Snapdragon S2 processor. While the phone was generally well reviewed a lot of people were not impressed with the iPhone-like screen size and the single core processor. Today the rumor mill has kicked out word of a new device that may take the place of the V, a phone called the Proto. According to the rumor the Proto will compensate nicely for any perceived shortcomings on the V. The phone will supposedly feature 1GHz dual-core S4 processor, 4″ Super LCD display, 512MB of RAM, 5MP camera, HSPA+ radios, Beats Audio and 4GB of onboard storage. While this device will not set the world on fire, it will give fans of smaller screen size and non-power users a very attractive option in the mid-level price point. That is if it is coming to the US market. Looks like time will tell on that as well as confirmation of these specs, Stay Tuned.
