Will The Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jellybean Update Be Arriving August 29th??

I briefly touched on this last night but the rumor has persisted so let’s revisit it.  It looks like Android’s latest and greatest JellyBean may be arriving on the Galaxy S III later this month.  On August 29th Samsung has a big announcement planned that should be the unveiling of the Galaxy Note 2.  However, if you own a GSIII this may not be the big news coming out that day.  It looks like Sammy may have a Jellybean surprise up its sleeve according to a source of GSMArena.com.  With the GSIII, Samsung pulled off the first phone release across all 4 major US carriers so don’t think they will let this phone sit on the shelf with old software!

JellyBean has only been out a few months so I think we can cut Samsung a little slack on taking their time getting the update together.  While there are numerous leaks out there and today a video popped up of an international version of the phone running Android 4.1.1, the official update does not have an actual official release date yet. The update will most likely be available for European and Asian GSIII owners first OTA(over the air) or through KIES. Yes, Jellybean will be heavily covered by Touchwiz but even if that does not interest you, the fact that the official release will allow for the baking of much more stable ROMs most likely will!! So lets all stay tuned for the end of the month, even if the Note 2 is the only cause for celebration at Sammy’s event, know that Samsung is hard at work getting this update to Google’s latest software to all of us impatient owners!
