Xaomi Says Me Too, With Second Mi Smartphone (Mi-Two) And Monster Specs
Xaomi of MIUI ROM fame has finally released details and specs on the next iteration of their Mi-One Android phone. You may recall the Mi-One was the first of the two and the Chinese company still only sells their handsets inside China. Perhaps that will change, and it’s not like their impossible to get, but I mention it because it is a major complaint for MIUI fans that live elsewhere in the world. Before we get into the Mi-Two, Xaomi also announced an upgraded version of the original handset that will boost it’s processing power to 1.7 GHz dual core an 8mp camera and a 230$ price tag.
The Mi-Two will bring monstrous specs to the party drawing comparisons to the HTC One X and Galaxy S 3 and besting both falling somewhere along the lines of the LG Eclipse that we wrote about here. The Mi-Two will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with the new Adreno 320 GPU (28nm). Yeah that is a monster of a smartphone that Xaomi has benchmarked. Needless to say it trounces it’s nearest competitors getting over 7700 Quadrant! The phone will also come with the soon to be standard 2GB of RAM for a meager $315 (off contract) and:
- 16GB of internal storage
- 2,000 mAh battery (3,000 mAh available upgrade)
- MHL port
- Bluetooth 4.0
HTC has announced their intentions to ge ta foothold in the Chinese Market place but this is a shot across the bow. Xaomi is raising the bar with this handset and keeping it very very affordable. Will we see something like this stateside. I doubt it if the past is any indicator. I chat with the Xaomi folks occasionally. I’ll keep you posted.
