Samsung Shows Us The Human Side Of Phone Design In New Video
If you are an Android fan, you most likely hear a lot about Samsung. They sell a vast amount of phones, hell a vast amount of everything. When the Galaxy S 3 dropped, it was easy to get caught up in the reviews, critiques, and over coverage. What gets lost in that glut of media is the human side of device design. There is an army of people behind that phone. They spent vast amounts of time designing every aspect of it and Samsung has put together a video to show us the process.
The video shows not only the thought process behind the physical design but the inspiration for the nature UI theme as well. I will be the first time admit that I do not like the way the phone sounds like a leaky faucet when I use it but that can be changed and to each his or her own. You can even see how they had to use liquids with higher viscosity such as milk to properly record the water sounds they wanted. While some of those facts are over kill for me, I did find a lot of the information on how they design not just the phone but the user experience to be very interesting. While the video goes a little heavy on the pretty language it is always fascinating to me to see the human side behind a phone of this magnitude.
