Archos Has A New Gamepad, Strikes Another Blow To Traditional Console Makers

Ouya is a big deal and It’s received overwhelming support. A number of companies have starting making moves toward Android devices made specifically for the purpose of gaming and frankly this has been bolstered by Playstation Mobile and the rise of the Tegra 3 and Snapdragon family of beast-mode processors. Well now Archos well known budget tablet manufacturer is entering the fray with the new Archos GamePad. The 7 inch GamePad will pack a dual core 1.5 Ghz processor with a Mali 400 Graphics Processing Unit. It will also come with 8GB of internal storage and a combination between touch and standard d-pad controls and analog thumb sticks. To top of it off it will have mirco-sd expansion (take that Sony), WiFi (duh), and miniHD output. We are looking at a simultaneous U.S. / European launch in the later part of October. How much? somewhere in the $230 range (150 £). Full market support is also present making this a compelling alternative to some gaming expensive  platforms out there (Nexus 7 with a six-axis still gets my vote). Thoughts? Post them below.
