The iPhone 4S Is Not The Number One Smartphone In The World Anymore

Update: It has been noted that the figure below encompasses the major U.S. carriers only. Our argument is that if Samsung is number one everywhere else (China etc)  it’s pretty difficult for Apple to have the top smartphone. When more refined figures appear we will update this with figures that show this.

Ahhh that explains it. All the trolling trials and attempts to destroy Samsung’s image as a company. Honestly some of things Sammy did both before and leading up to the trial were not very wise and there was some damning evidence raised at trial but today the real damning evidence may have more to do with Apple’s motives than Samsung’s. For the first time since the phones launch the iPhone 4S is not the number one smartphone in the world. According to channel checks from Michael Walkley at Canaccord Genuity, in August the Samsung Galaxy S 3 knocked the iPhone 4s off the top of the smartphone world. Granted some contributing factors are the coming launch of a new iPhone however when was the last time a smartphone was on the top of the pile and it wasn’t an iPhone? This cannot be understated and Apple better hope it isn’t true in October. Trouble in Cupertino? Yeah there’s been trouble there for a long time. They’re  after all bleeding market share all over the place. Check the figures below:
