HTC Thunderbolt gets working Ice Cream Sandwich data!
Ever since I found out that my good friend and developer Liquid had broken the data barrier on the Thunderbolt I’ve been ecstatic. Not to give too much information, but I have been running around like a kid in a candy store! But enough about me, theROM itself is a straight AOSP version of ICS for the HTC Thunderbolt with data/calls and messaging working correctly. Currently data only shows as 1x in the status bar but people have been reporting 3G and 4G speeds. To flash a copy of the... Read The Rest →
Xaomi Says Me Too, With Second Mi Smartphone (Mi-Two) And Monster Specs
Xaomi of MIUI ROM fame has finally released details and specs on the next iteration of their Mi-One Android phone. You may recall the Mi-One was the first of the two and the Chinese company still only sells their handsets inside China. Perhaps that will change, and it’s not like their impossible to get, but I mention it because it is a major complaint for MIUI fans that live elsewhere in the world. Before we get into the Mi-Two, Xaomi also announced an upgraded version of... Read The Rest →

Grand Prix Editorial: Developer Appreciation And Android Community Etiquette
As a former developer I spent many nights working on ROMs until early in the morning, sacrificing sleep for the sake of getting something done. Countless hours were spent with a coffee in one hand and the other on my computer mouse as my body begged me to sleep, my eyes growing heavy. It was to the point where many of my friends and family thought I was crazy for how much time I spent in front of a computer. Much of the android community is based on... Read The Rest →

Lenovo Ideapad K1 Tegra 2 Finally Gets Ice Cream Sandwich, A Shining Example Of How To Save A Tablet
So when I had struggles with Lenovo’s Ideapad k1 I chronicled them here. Me being a fair individual, I will give credit when it’s due and not just run my mouth when things go wrong. I would like to use Lenovo as an example here of what other manufacturers can do to add years to the life cycle of their aging devices. Lenovo had some logistical issues getting the software to run properly due to some over the top customizations in Android 3.1/2 which made the software even more sluggish... Read The Rest →

Theme Chooser Pops Up In BAMF Paradigm, Coming To CM 10 Next?
Over on Rootzwiki BAMF Paradigm 2.0 was released to much fanfare. Probably the biggest new addition to the ROM was the addition of the theme chooser and that’s pretty big news. Even bigger news is that Rootzwiki is saying an anonymous source is reporting that that same theme chooser that we know and love just might pop up in CyanogenMOD 10 as well. For those who don’t know about theme chooser it’s a very simple theming option that works across many devices and ROMS which is why it is... Read The Rest →
