Google Fiber Touts Blazing Speed, Never Get Left Behind
This is one of the latest videos to be uploaded by the official Google Fiber Youtube channel and I thought I would share, mostly because it shows off a key advantage of Google Fiber speeds. Imagine downloading a cd or game in under a second. For more information and links on Google Fiber for more information on Google Fiber see our slide here and speed test here. It’s amazing! Enjoy. Nexus Q Launch Delayed, Google Set To Hook Up Early Adopters Who Pre-Ordered With Free Nexus Q!!!
In a field of crowded internet TV peripherals the Google Nexus Q stands out. The device was announced a few weeks ago and unlike most internet TV boxes, the Q goes the more eye pleasing route of a sphere lit with a ring of 32 LEDs. The device allows you to hook up your Android phone or tablet and stream music, rent videos and shows from the Play Store, and watch YouTube. The device was met with great fanfare when it was announced and loads of pre-orders came in.... Read The Rest →
Google releases first Nexus 7 commercial
So here is the first ad for Google’s Nexus 7 tablet. I don’t have to tell you how well Google is doing with these right now (they don’t need an ad) and it’s great to see them hit the airwaves with the little promotion. With or without it phenomenal sales are very likely to continue. Anyway its very nice enjoy. Tweet This Post Kidromulous Long time technology writer and editor. Flash-aholics Guide To Nexus 7: You’ve Got The Nexus 7 In Hand…Now What
So you’ve got your Nexus 7 now. To be different than the next guy writing about Android has always been a goal of mine, and what I see on most sites is guides to actually rooting the Nexus 7 and etc. Well there are already a ton of guides to that on the web. I for one used Wug’s tool which you can find right here. What we want to do it instead is take you from the next step where you take a look at some ROM’s kernels... Read The Rest →
Kindle Fired: Nexus 7 Hands On, And Yeah We Like It….
So recently Google (manufactured by Asus ) came out with it’s very own tablet and took the full fledge plunge into the hardware business. Announcing the little tablet at Google IO (along with it’s odd ball cousin the Nexus Q) and then promptly putting it up for pre-order this bad boy is selling like hot cakes and Larry, Eric and Sergey are taking their victory lap and while they are doing that I’m enjoying what is fast becoming my favorite Android device. So let’s get into my thoughts on the Nexus 7 after... Read The Rest →
Nexus 7 Is Selling Like The Proverbial Hotcakes, Putting Up Huge Numbers And Selling Out Everywhere
So back in June (the far far distant past in a galaxy far far away) Google announced the Nexus 7 at their Google io conference. The tablet then immediately went up for pre-order. Well those tablets started shipping on yesterday and we broke the story here that confirmed this. (I broke the story as I was picking mine up. Well the demand for the tablet has been “immense” according to Google Chairmen and Evangelist Eric Schmidt. Gamestop , the retailer where I get my tablet, has reportedly sold out of... JellyBean Source Code Is Released…. Developers and Modders Rejoice!
Well if you haven’t heard already the JellyBean source code for Android 4.1 was released earlier this evening ushering in a new era of theming and modding for all. This means that most everyone will be able to reap at least some benefit from this almost immediately. Most people running rooted devices will see new updates to Google Now and perhaps some benefits from project butter ported to their Ice Cream Sandwhich (Android 4.0 ROMS). Of course nexus device users and fans of AOSP ROMS will see immediate results from... Read The Rest →
P.S.A.- Jelly Bean And How to Avoid the Galaxy Nexus Reboot Issue
So just in case you were living under a rock last week Google took the covers off the newest version of its Android operating system, dubbed Jelly Bean. The new O.S. promised to bring the usual upgrades, faster scrolling, smoother transitions, slicker interface, but it also brings a whole bevy of iOS fighting ingredients to the table. I will get to those later after some use and review. In the meantime the big news for all of us Galaxy Nexus users out there was that someone screwed up and... Read The Rest →
Now Nokia Says Google And Asus Infringe On Their Patents And Need To Pay Up
It is really starting to appear that Google’s competitors know they cannot compete directly with Android. JellyBean is killer lets face it and so is the Nexus 7 tablet announced along with it. So killer that no one is really coming close and especially not the likes of Nokia who are now claiming that the Nexus 7 is in violation of their standards essential patent portfolio with the patents in questions relating to WiFi. Now for the moment it appears that Nokia is just going to ask nicely for it’s... Read The Rest →
Could A Cross Licensing Deal Be Imminent? Samsung And Google Team Up To Fight Apple
9 to 5 Mac is reporting that Google and Samsung will team up and have a “game plan” to get more money out of Apple Inc for use of patented technologies. Of course this comes on the heels of the announcement that Apple has won a preliminary injunction banning both the original Galaxy Tab and the flagship device for Google”s latest versions of the Android OS the Galaxy Nexus. Cross licensing agreements are a fairly common method to settle these disputes and I think Google getting involved openly is... Read The Rest →
Google Wows Us With New 3-D Imagery In Google Earth… Take That Apple
Apple has been working on getting Google Maps service off their phones and tablets for quite sometime and proceeded to gobble up the necessary companies to get this done. However Google isn’t just sitting around crying about it. Instead they have beat Apple to the punch at upping the ante with their new 3-D overhaul of Google Earth and it is gorgeous. Thanks to new 3-D imaging technology and requisitioning their own fleet of planes to shoot 45 degree angle shots of city scapes the new Google Earth is... Read The Rest →

Yesterday on phone arena it was reported that press images of the new Google Nexus tablet had been leaked to them (see above.) I for one am quite excited about the prospect of a Tegra 3 tablet for around 200 bucks and can’t wait to see it come to fruition. Rumor has it the tablet will sport the next version of Android 4.1 known as Jelly Bean and bring with it a plethora of new features.
