HTC Thunderbolt gets working Ice Cream Sandwich data!

htc-thunderbolt-ics

Ever since I found out that my good friend and developer Liquid had broken the data barrier on the Thunderbolt I’ve been ecstatic. Not to give too much information, but I have been running around like a kid in a candy store! But enough about me, theROM itself is a straight AOSP version of ICS for the HTC Thunderbolt with data/calls and messaging working correctly. Currently data only shows as 1x in the status bar but people have been reporting 3G  and 4G speeds. To flash a copy of the... Read The Rest →

Back To Eden: Notion Ink Announces Adam II

Back when I was trying to determine what the purpose would be (find a valid excuse) to spend big bucks on an Android tablet the Notion Ink Adam came along with it’s awesome GUI and suddenly the tablet world had my attention. The original Adam, as cool as it is can’t exaclty be called a phenomenal success in fact the launch was plagued with a few issues including lucky pre-orderers taking the tab out of the box to find an update that promptly borked the tablet. Well... Read The Rest →

The New Year Brings ICS to EVO 3D In A Big Way With 3 AOSP Builds

11 - 1

It seems at times I am the only man in the world who loves both HTC and the Sense UI but alas I will be that guy. The end of 2011 brought some tough choices for me in terms of what to do with my beloved EVO 3D. The choice to go to Verizon instead of Sprint was there but I thought better of that. I’m happy with Sprint’s service in my coverage area and their a bit easier on the wallet. I could also have made the so... Read The Rest →

Galaxy Nexus On December 15! I know, I know But Verizon Says So This Time

galaxy-nexus

So the guys over at Android Phone Fans aka as Phandroid have got a tip from one of their readers confirming the already speculated December 15 release of the Galaxy Nexus. The tip actually came in the form of a voicemail from the Verizon store to the lucky reader. We won’t be happy here at AndroREV until we see an actual press release but this seems very very likely. So I made a phone call to the Verizon store that’s basically right out my front door here in Durham N.C. and... Read The Rest →

leweb11-cest-ca-conferences-workshops-competition-de-startups

Though this video has some age on it, its the keynote address from LeWeb 11, at this point I wanted to share it with you guys just in-case you missed it and I think that it says something about the video itself.  Eric Schmidt Google Exective Chairman has a profound vision for the future of mobile tech and is unapologetic about it which is why I find him, and his interactions with Google employees as well as the press so entertaining. With all the guys brains and executive bravado he... Read The Rest →

Motorola-XOOM1

Looking at this video this morning it took me a few seconds not to pay attention to the carousel feature Google is attempting to show off here and realize that the device they are showing it off on is the Motorola Xoom. Yes indeed Motorola promised the Xoom would be one of the first of their devices to be rocking Android 4.0 and here it is for you to see. I guess it’s safe to say we will see ICS on the Xoom really really soon. Remember the Xoom... Read The Rest →

Video- CyanogenMod9 Builds Trickling Out for Nexus S+Galaxy Phones!!

CM73

As soon as the source code for Android 4.0 ICS dropped, the first question on most people’s lips was, when will the Cyanogen build be available? Well after a few weeks it seems we have our first builds trickling out.  None of these are in stable bug free form of course and should be flashed at the users risk. First up the Nexus S has an alpha build up on XDA. The ROM is actually quite usable for a daily driver according to its developer for the Nexus S,... Read The Rest →

Samsung Confirms Our Worst Fears-No Verizon Nexus Untill December!!

galaxy-nexus-lte-logo-540x299

Well we all saw this coming!  It seems that Business Insider has gotten official confirmation that Samsung will be delaying the launch of the upcoming Galaxy Nexus.  With two huge superphones just having been released and massive Black Friday sales it comes as no surprise that Verizon is delaying the release of this phone. Reports have come from Europe that a volume bug has been affecting certain phones so let’s hope that issue gets worked out.  Looks like Verizon is going to be taking it’s time testing out this phone...
