Motorola Announces Via Twitter No Plans To Unlock Bootloaders On Older Devices!!
Motorola just announced the release of their bootloader unlocking tool with the Moto Photon Q being the first device on the unlock list. When news of this tool released alot of people with older Motorola devices I am sure were hoping the tool would be coming down the pipes to them. As a Verizon SGS3 owner who just got a hold of Sammy’s bootloader unlock tool, it is always exciting news. However I am going to have to take the wind out of some of your sails tonight. The Verge obtained images of a new phone from Motorola that could well be the Third in it’s Atrix line. The phone has already made it’s debut in China and could well be on the way to the U.S.A. courtesy of ATT. The phone features a 720 p display and Android 4.0 and as you can see from the images above, without buttons. It doesn’t take close examination to see that despite the Google stuff this phone will have some version of Moto Blur although it’s a pretty sexy... Read The Rest →
Motorola Mobilty Q1 Report Released, Shipments Up But $121Million Loss On The Books
While Motorola Mobility has gained a valuable ally with its recently approved (except in China) acquisition by Google, the outlook is not all rainbows. Today they released their Q1 earning report and it was a bit of a mixed bag. The company’s revenue was up slightly to $3.1 billion but it also lost over $121 million in the same quarter. A big reason for this was the rather sobering drop in shipments of mobile devices, in Q4 of 2011 they shipped 10.5 million, the first quarter of this year Moto... Read The Rest →
Googlerola Is Official DOJ and European Equivalent Approve Motorola Deal
Earlier today the European Commission approved the purchase of Motorola Mobility by Google Inc. and now the United States Department of Justice has followed suit. Google gains a very healthy patent portfolio, a foothold in the set top box business and of course a mobile phone manufacturer that has done much to propel Android to global domination. I’m pretty proud of the fact that I saw this coming last year and though anti-trust approval was considered a foregone thought by many (including myself) it’s still good to see the... Read The Rest →

We reported on Monday here that Motorola could potentially see a big pay day from apple to the tune of over 2 billion dollars for violations of 3g patents. It now turns out the German courts are not done awarding Moto victories. According to Fosspatents, its appears Microsoft is also about to have to pay up. 2.25 % on sales of their products ranging from the Windows operating system all the way to the Xbox 360. There seems to be a technology that involves video compression and decompression... Read The Rest →

Readers of our blog know that Motorola won a pretty big injunction in German court regarding 3G/UMTS technology and the fact that every 3G enabled iphone to date has the technology on board. Fans of this blog know we’re totally on top of the deal that was struck that effectively makes Motorola a Google company and that was another one where we put it out there and people said I was crazy and then Google bought Motorola . We theorized back before the deal that the acquisition of Motorola... Read The Rest →
Intel Is All In With Android, Shows Off Medfield And Signs Deal With Motorola
Today Intel took the stage at CES and blew our minds with their highly modified Medfield reference device. First of all the device was fully loaded with HDMI, NFC, and a 8mp shooter though the design can support a 16 mp camera. So what’s the advantage of Intel’s new technology? Well side by side with an HTC device playing back 1080p video it’s battery kept going for hours after the HTC device was dry. Intel has apparently taken Gingerbread and added a lot more ginger. The device was running Android... Read The Rest →

Looking at this video this morning it took me a few seconds not to pay attention to the carousel feature Google is attempting to show off here and realize that the device they are showing it off on is the Motorola Xoom. Yes indeed Motorola promised the Xoom would be one of the first of their devices to be rocking Android 4.0 and here it is for you to see. Droid XYBoard Accessories Are Arriving at Verizon!!
So it seems Mr Blurrycam has given us some shots of the Motorola Droid XYBoard. If you did not know this is the badly named successor to the Motorola Zoom. The Zoom has been an interesting experience for both Moto and end users. The tablet was billed as a 4G LTE device however it shipped with 3G only and the user had to send the tablet back to Moto to have a LTE radio installed. Maybe Moto is looking to forget this tablet with the new XYBoard moniker. Either way this... Read The Rest →
