IFA: Sony New Xperia Tablet S, The Next Generation Sony Tablet

sony-xperia-tablet-s

Sony had a really big day today and taking a look at what they are doing as a whole we are seeing an extremely agile and more open Sony. One that has taken many parts and unified them and one that has placed a serious amount of their resources into the Android platform. I’ve said it many times Sony makes some of the best hardware paired with user experience around and that trend is going to continue into their next generation Android hardware. Under Kaz Harai’s leadership Sony is steamrolling toward a unified platform... Read The Rest →

The Trial Of The Century (at least for us) Begins And Why We Think Samsung May Actually Win

sammywins

I won’t get on  my soapbox too much on this one as I chronicled pretty well in my last editorial that covered a Samsung legal brief going into the billion dollar trial between them and Apple. Well we got more. Samsung has brought out some pretty interesting information on their designs previous to the iPhone which Apple seems to think the invented (they actually stole it from the likes of LG , Palm, HTC, Samsung and Sony and we can prove it). Case in point Apple has removed a few... Read The Rest →

Sony’s New Google TV Box Is Up For Pre-Order at $199!!!

sony-nsz-gs7-network-media-player-powered-with-google-tv-in-wireless-multimedia-networking-devices--jr.com

As someone who recently had a lot of trouble with his cable provider, I have been looking very hard at internet TV. There are more than a few options out there and Sony is looking to expand their foothold in the internet TV world this summer in a big way.  Their first foray into the internet TV world with its awkward remote has been replaced by a smooth, sexy unit.  The device with the somewhat unimaginative name of the NSZ-GS7 will of course bring the usual features of Google’s internet... xperia-neo-l-620x440

Currently slated for release in China the Xperia Neo L appears to be the first Sony phone launching with Ice Cream Sandwich. The mid-range device will be packing 1GB internal memory, a 5mp camera, 1GHz single-core Snapdragon CPU, 512MB of RAM, and a 800×480 4-inch display. No word on the U.S. but catching sight of some Ice Cream is a sign Sony may be prepping their full line of devices for Android 4.0.  More to come on this. Root Exploit For Sony Google TV Available Now!

Google_TV_1_610x335

Last year one of my gadget purchases (my favorite by far) was the Sony Google T.V. I happen to have the 32 inch integrated model but regardless of which one you have , the Blu Ray set top box or the T.V.’s you now have the option to root it. The benefits of rooting are that things are the ability to modifiy the kernel and flash player for things like HULU and the guys over at GTV Hacker have done just that. By first downgrading the firmware to an exploitable... Read The Rest →

New Sony UXP NXT UI for Xperia S Caught On Tape

Xperia_S_front

The Sony Xperia S is coming and along with the new flagship smart phone comes a new custom overlay. Now I’ve said it a couple times. Sony is the best in the world at the graphical user interface. The X Media Cross Bar is one of my favorite UI experiences and one of my biggest gripes with the new Vita handheld is that they seem to be moving away from it to an icon based system ala Android. That being said Timescape is awesome ( I often run the... Read The Rest →

Whats This ? HTC To Receive Playstation Certification For Their Devices?

PlayStation_Certified_thumb

According to Pocket-Lint HTC will soon be the only other OEM other than Sony themselves to have Play Station Certified devices.  This means that Sony made games will be available on HTC’s forthcoming handsets and perhaps as early as the Mobile World Congress. Already speculation is abound that this may mean a HTC phone with a slide out keyboard but I for one am more inclined to believe they will go the touch screen/blue tooth controller route. I have speculated for some time that Sony is really baking on... Read The Rest →

xperia-arc

Sony Ericcson had a bit of a slow start to an Android game but they have worked hard this past year at putting out some very nice phones on their Xperia line, including the Arc and the Play.  Now it seems they are working on a phone to keep up with the best that the big dogs are releasing by the end of the year.  The phone is so far being called the Xperia Arc HD.  Rumors of a phone with a very nice 720p display have been floating around... Google TV Update About To Roll! Sony First (yay) Logitech Thereafter

Sony Google TV

Google TV Update About To Roll /Sigh Google T.V. I have long been contemplating an AndroREV review of the system that attempted to change how we view television. The system that most folks consider a huge failure. Well call me a televangelist , a Google Televangelist to be exact. No I’m not about to get my Benny Hinn on but I would like to lay hands on a few people lol. All jokes aside we have been waiting a long time for the Honeycomb update to Google T.V. and...
